Imitation
Imitation
‘What you see is what you get’, proclaims the well known saying
‘What I want is now not then’ loud can be heard the praying.
It seems that when the world was made so great was human yearning
That now mankind should profligate and get by without earning.
Who wants to be a ‘modern man’ and still own one’s appearance?
To hide one’s natural look and show no care without adherence.
The strong physique, well-muscled frame is what creation’s asking,
But all the fight is not so reached; you can’t get there by basking.
A ‘modern miss’ with shape so svelte are you the one for diets?
Or do you have to trick and cheat by all the modern try its?
The ‘low cal’ food, weight watching too – what passes by your lips?
A penny to the pound I’ll bet, it’ll show upon your hips.
So why must we all try to be an imitation reason
When what we need it is decreed, a first for this new season.
Don’t try to do what others do and realise that you could
Just be yourself, a one off mould, and live because you should.
